Fraud and impersonation warning — please read

Petroleum trading attracts a very high volume of fraud. Criminals impersonate genuine trading companies, copy their websites, letterheads and documents, and use similar-looking domains and email addresses to obtain money in advance. Please read the following before sending funds or documents to anyone claiming to represent MINTWURKS LIMITED.

Our only official channels

Any communication from a domain, address, number or office other than those listed above is not from MINTWURKS LIMITED, regardless of how convincing it appears or what logos, letterheads, licence numbers or staff names it carries.

What we do not do

• We do not send unsolicited offers. We correspond with counterparties we are already engaged with. We do not circulate Soft Corporate Offers, allocation notices or tender invitations at random, through bulk email, messaging groups, or brokers who are not appointed by us in writing.
• We do not request advance fees of any kind — no allocation, registration, clearance, licence, tank storage, dip test, inspection, courier or “facilitation” payments — as a precondition of a transaction. Payment terms are set out in the signed contract and settled through the agreed banking instrument.
• We do not ask for payment to personal accounts, cryptocurrency wallets, money-transfer services, or accounts held in any name other than MINTWURKS LIMITED.
• We do not issue Proof of Product or Q&Q documents in exchange for a fee, and we do not require payment before a Full Corporate Offer is signed.
• We do not pressure counterparties to transfer funds urgently, outside an executed written agreement, or on the strength of a document alone.

Verify before you act — every time

Email addresses, telephone numbers, letterheads, signatures, bank confirmations and inspection certificates can all be spoofed or forged, and a message can appear to come from a genuine address while originating elsewhere. Treat every corporate offer, invoice, contract, banking instruction or change of bank details as unverified until you have confirmed it independently:

• Contact us using the details published on this page, typed in yourself — never the contact details contained in the suspicious message.
• Confirm any banking details, and any change to them, by telephone with a known contact before transferring funds. A change of payment instructions received by email should always be treated as suspicious.
• Check the sender’s domain character by character; fraudulent domains often differ by a single letter, a hyphen, or a different extension.
• Verify inspection and Proof of Product documents directly with the issuing surveyor or terminal, using contact details you source independently.
• Have your bank and your own legal advisers review before any payment leaves your control.

If you are contacted by someone claiming to be us

Please report it to sales@mintwurks.com so we can respond, and to your local law-enforcement or cybercrime authority. If you have already transferred funds, contact your bank immediately.

MINTWURKS LIMITED accepts no liability whatsoever for any loss, damage or expense arising from communications, offers, documents, invoices or payment instructions that did not originate from the official channels listed above, from any dealing with a third party impersonating MINTWURKS LIMITED or claiming to act on its behalf without written authority, or from a failure to carry out the verification steps described in this notice.
